Saya Sebagai Seorang Class Rep

Pada September 2018 ini, telah masuk tahun kedua Nadia belajar di uni.

Anyways, this blog post is just about me being a class rep. Not an official class rep, though.

It's the second year and our original class rep is exhausted of having to handle class matters, so we ended up appointing a new class rep. But as our current class rep has a few classes that he doesn't take along with the rest of us, he came up with the idea to appoint a class rep for each subject.

Badly for me, while he was appointing class reps for subjects, I accidentally made eye contact with him as he was looking for a candidate for our subject. And since he's an avid viewer of my Instagram stories, he's a bit familiar with me.

Eye contact was made. So, in short, I then became appointed as the class representative of Computer Application in Management.

Because I've had experience as an Assistant Class Rep during my last semester at UiTM, though I'm more of a class rep. I'm quite fed up of having jawatans.

But my class rep subtly forced me into the position by making sparkly eyes and smiles. I was trapped.

To make things even worse, the lecturer for the subject that I'm in charge of isn't placed on my campus, but at another campus, in which the distance from here to there is a 2-hour drive. Hence, my only way of communication with the lecturer is via Whatsapp.

In fact, I had to have my class rep and ex class rep help me retrieve the number of my lecturer by seeing the KPP at the office of my faculty. I've been going to the faculty office a lot ever since I've been appointed class rep.

Not only that, a month later, we switched lecturers. Originally, our lecturer was a woman, Malay. Afterwards, we have switched to a lecturer who is a foreigner, from Arab descent, and can only communicate with us in English. Not only that, he still has his Arab slang, so it can hard for some to understand what he's saying.

Oh yeah, since our lecturers are from the other campus, I'd always have to guide them to our classroom during their first day arriving at my campus.

Being a class rep for just one subject is actually a good thing, in my opinion. It helps build leadership without being too stressful, as being a class rep for ALL the subjects.

I feel like my class rep made a right decision doing this. He even appointed one our classmates who was known for being late to class as a class rep for one of the subjects. Ever since he was appointed as class rep for the subject, he became more responsible.
